GBWhatsApp for iPhone (iOS): What You Need to Know in 2026
GBWhatsApp is only built for Android. There is no genuine iOS version, and iPhones cannot install APK files. This page explains why and what iPhone users can do instead.
Why there is no GBWhatsApp for iOS
Apple only allows apps from the App Store or from approved alternative stores in some regions, and modified WhatsApp builds are not accepted in either. The APK format used by GBWhatsApp is Android-only, so the file simply will not open on an iPhone or iPad.
Be careful with websites that offer a "GBWhatsApp iOS download", ask you to install a configuration profile, or send you through survey and "human verification" pages. These files are not GBWhatsApp and can put your Apple ID, data or device at risk.
Privacy options already in official WhatsApp on iPhone
Official WhatsApp now covers several things people used to install GB for. Open Settings, then Privacy, in WhatsApp on your iPhone:
- Hide your last seen and online status from everyone or selected contacts
- Turn off read receipts so blue ticks do not show
- Hide your profile photo, About and status from chosen people
- Lock individual chats behind Face ID
- Use disappearing messages and view-once photos
- Silence unknown callers
Options if you want GBWhatsApp features
- Use an Android phone or tablet with a second number and install the GBWhatsApp APK there.
- Run GBWhatsApp on a computer with an emulator, as shown in our GBWhatsApp for PC guide.
- Stay on official WhatsApp for iPhone and use the privacy settings above.
Frequently asked questions
Can I install GBWhatsApp on iPhone without jailbreak?
No. No working GBWhatsApp build exists for iOS, with or without a jailbreak.
Is WhatsApp++ the same as GBWhatsApp for iPhone?
WhatsApp++ was a separate tweak for jailbroken iPhones and is no longer maintained. It carries a high ban risk and we do not recommend it.
Can I move GBWhatsApp chats to an iPhone?
Not directly. You would first have to move your chats back to official WhatsApp on Android, then use WhatsApp's own Move to iOS transfer.
